6 Ways Mushrooms Can Save The World

Paul Stamets is a local legend around these parts. Even up here in Federal Way, Washington I find myself talking with people all gathered around the “Mycoceutical shelf” for hours every time I visit the supplement store.

The man has appeared in several documentaries and written dozens of books. As a professional mycologist he gained his reputation by taking samples of fungi from around the world, but the local Olympic National Forest is always calling his name.
One mushroom in particular dwells as a 200 year old survivor, thriving in the old growth forest. National Geographic took interest in it as well as the government for it’s potential to rid the world of the common flu, N1H1, and Tuberculosis.

With the many ideas and projects Paul Stamets passes down to us, taking the reins and becoming ecologically responsible has become something anyone can do.
